inversed squares, part 1: dw-5600b-1ajf
i’m a sucker for Gs with reversed or inversed displays.
detractors will insist the digits are a bitch to read when lighting conditions are poor. point taken, but i love them black for the simple and superficial reason that they look cool. poor light? there’s always the illuminator backlight.
the dw-5600b-1ajf is not the first g-shock with a black display, but it’s probably the first i encountered since i started buying g-shocks regularly in singapore.
i’m not a fan of the m-spec strap, and almost passed up on the watch when it was launched some three years ago. as luck would have it, the regular shop i go to took it on their own to replace the black/orange strap with regular resin straps.
last week, i bought my second copy of the watch via ebay. it was a new piece in stock condition and i have decided to keep the m-spec straps, for now…

you’ve got a really nice collection of g-shocks. where in singapore did you get this and for how much?
the first 5600b with resin straps was bought from Win’s at The Bencoolen. Think it cost S$92 back then. Second piece with the original nylon straps was from ebay.
Seems pretty hard to find in Singapore now. Best hope will be older shops with unsold stocks. Another alternative is UK websites… but that is too pricey in my opinion.
good luck!
thanks for the information! stealth g-shocks are my new addiction.
