g-hunting in taipei

currently taking a short holiday in taipei. was window shopping in 西 when i found a building in the area that houses several watch shops.

that spelled bad news for the wallet as soon i found out the mirb gw-200ms and master blue gw-225c were selling below the singapore retail price… i already have these models but the prices were just too tasty.

another shop also carried the dawn black gw-225a and gw-225e. should i or shouldn’t i?

  1. Hello! Nice to know you, came across your blog. I’ll be going down to Taipei do, do you mind provide me with the address of the place where i can get the watches please? Thank you. my e-mail is kelchar@gmail.com

  2. Hi, were you in Shimenti buying watches? Well I think I know the shop you are talking about where they have the GW-225A and GW-225E. If you want to get them, check the watches out CAREFULLY. Familiarise yourself with how the GW-225A and E looks like and how they differ from each out.

  3. hi JS, i found these in a shop along the perimeter of Xi Men Ding.

Hi TheHobbit, just wondering why you make the comment about being careful? Is the shop you have in mind known to have ermmm… swap modules or something like that?

anyway i bought my second master blue and mirb there. so the physical differences were pretty obvious.

    thanks for the heads-up :-)

  4. I guess you can read Chinese. We have a gathering in Taipei on 6/20. http://www.watchbus.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=36561 and here is my website http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Dojo/5286/gshock.htm.

  5. hi JC,

my Chinese is still ok. though i do have some trouble with Traditional Chinese. we are taught Simplified Chinese in singapore schools.

i will love to attend the outing but alas i am based in singapore. my trip to taipei in april was my first and i love it. you guys have a wider range of g-shocks available especially the japanese atomic models. prices are very competitive too. hope to visit again soon.

i recently signed up as a watchbus.com member but have not posted so far. are you the moderator of the g-shock sub-forum on watchbus?

    do keep in touch. :-)

    dave.
